On May 16, 2014, Merel Beving, a good friend of Heartbeat for Africa was called home to be with our Lord. Merle spent most of his life as a loving caretaker of the family farm, raising cattle, corn, soybeans, horses, alfalfa, sheep, and some oats from time-to-time. The family farm had been passed down in his family since 1893. While Merle never made it to Africa, he was an avid support of Heartbeat for Africa and the support he provide over the years touched the lives of hundreds in Africa resulting in the Good News of Jesus Christ being preached and shared in many countries of West Africa.
Upon Merle’s passing the family requested memorials be designated to Heartbeat for Africa, Merle’s favorite faith-based charity. Heartbeat for Africa is thankful that God touched Merle’s life and gave him the passion to help reach the people of West Africa. Heartbeat for Africa considers itself blessed to have had the support and prayers of a great man of faith like Merle Beving.
