How to Join a Mission Trip

Ghana Children 2014Heartbeat for Africa works with churches and individuals to help those with a heart for Africa to connect with in-country mission efforts in West Africa.  Heartbeat for Africa is active in supporting Community Health Evangelism (CHE) training and medical outreach in West Africa.  We work closely with the local African CHE Country coordinators to assist them in their mission and training outreach.

We routinely send small mission teams to West Africa (8-12 people) to come alongside the in-country missionaries.  We are there to support them and assist them.  We typically send either a Medical  Mission Team or a Training Mission Team.

The Medical Mission Team is usually led by one of our Doctors and will focus on medical assessments in the villages or medical clinics or  disease prevention and hygiene.  The teams are usually made up of both medical professionals and non-medical individuals with a desire to contribute.

The Education Mission Team is primarily focused on providing  CHE training to either the in-country CHE Trainers or the local communities.  The material is designed to cover topics like: Hygiene, Disease Prevention, Woman’s Health, Water Purification, and mush more.  Heartbeat for Africa is not focused on simply giving relief but focusing on the physical, social and spiritual needs of the community.

It may simply be that God has laid a burden on your heart for the people of West Africa.  It may be that your purpose is simply to share the love of Christ and your personal testimony with a child living day to day.  Sometimes a smile is worth more than gold.
